Tell us about yourself.
I was born in Hong Kong and went to U.K. to study from 6th form in a traditional boarding school. So I had firsthand experience of studying and looking after myself independently from a young age. The memories and experiences I gained from being in the U.K. have gone on to shape who I am today.
How did you get into design?
During my A-level studies I excelled in Art and was given a lot of encouragement by my tutors. They saw a spark in this field for me and I really enjoyed being able to create artwork. Once I finished my A-levels I went on to spend a year studying Art Foundation at Loughborough University. During this year I found I loved to engage art with people and was gearing more towards visual and interactive design. Afterwards this desire led me on to complete my degree in Graphic Design and Illustration at The University of Hertfordshire. Since then I have returned to Hong Kong and have embarked on my journey in the Design Field.
What do you love most designing?
I love being able to express myself, my opinions and my likes through my work. I think in this sense I find branding and advertising to be my favourite sectors because I love to be able to participate in projects that I can have a positive impact on and once complete be able to see the difference it has made for that particular company or brand or even product.
Tell us about something cool you have worked/ are working on.
I previously got to work on various TVC projects which was really cool as I got to work on the brainstorming, storyboarding, coordination, filming, shooting, editing and final execution. To be able to see these broadcasted on the T.V. really made all the hard work worthwhile.
I am now working on some really exciting projects for Standard Chartered such as their international students campaign and as well as the rebranding of the careers part of their website. I am so excited to have the opportunity to work on these projects since they heavily involve branding which is something I love to get stuck into.
What are you passionate about?
Scuba Diving, Travelling, and going to the Theatre. I think each of these passions gives me exciting experiences, memories and keeps my mind refreshed and inspired all the time. I really love to see and make people around me happy.
What are your big hairy audacious goals?
I would love to go Scuba Diving in the top ten dive sites around the world such as the Red Sea and the Great Barrier Reef. Career wise I want to be a well known Designer one day and leave my mark in design.
